Removal and installation/check of the fuel pump

Carburetor engine

The fuel pump is screwed on a head of cylinders. It is put in action via the lever directly from a cam-shaft. For check of the pump it is not required to remove it.

At removal of the fuel pump a fuel quantity can act. Vapors of fuel are poisonous therefore it is necessary to provide good ventilation of the room. To avoid hit of fuel on skin. To work in toplivostoyky mittens. Not to work near naked flame! To keep in readiness the fire extinguisher!



  1. To disconnect a fuel hose on the carburetor and to connect to the manometer.
  1. To disconnect a returnable fuel hose from the pump and to cork the union on the pump. To fix a stopper by a collar. To stop up a returnable fuel-supply line with a pure bolt.
  2. To ask the assistant to start the engine. At the speed of a starter to take readings of the manometer. Pressure at the speed of a starter has to be 2,8-3,5 Bars (E1, EZ, E5: 2,0-3,0 Bars).
  1. To remove the manometer and to lower a fuel hose in a measuring vessel (beaker).
  1. To ask the assistant to start the engine. The pump idling has to give 800 ml of fuel a minute.
  2. To remove a stopper, to connect fuel-supply lines and to fix by collars.
  3. If values when checking do not correspond demanded, the pump is faulty and has to be replaced.



  1. To weaken hose collars and to disconnect fuel hoses-1-and-2-. To stop up hoses with suitable pure bolts. To mark hoses with an adhesive tape.

At a detachment of fuel-supply lines to enclose a rag for collecting the following fuel.

  1. To unscrew bolts of fastening and to remove the fuel pump-3-, laying and the insulator.



  1. It is careful to exempt a sealing surface on a head of cylinders and the insulator from the consolidation remains by means of a shaber.
  2. To install the fuel pump with 2 new laying and the insulator and to tighten fastening bolts with effort of 25 Nanometers.
  3. To connect fuel-supply lines according to marking and to fix by hose collars.
  4. To start the engine and to check tightness of a gasoline pump and connections.
