Removal and installation/check of coupling



  1. To remove the transmission, see the Head the Manual transmission, the Section Removal and installation of the transmission.
  2. To mark the provision of a press disk on a flywheel with a felt-tip pen or a chertilka.
  1. That when weakening bolts the flywheel was not turned, to stop it on a gear wreath by means of the screw-driver and a core. In the workshops MAZDA the represented special adaptation is used.
  1. To serially weaken bolts of fastening of a press disk on 1 - 1,5 turn until press the disk unloads.

If to weaken bolts at once, the diaphragm spring can be damaged.

  1. To completely turn out bolts.
  2. To take out press and conducted disks.

Not to allow falling of the press and conducted disks at taking out, otherwise after installation there can be difficulties at inclusion and switching off of coupling.

  1. To wipe a flywheel with the rag moistened in gasoline.



  1. To replace the greasy or mechanically damaged conducted disks.
  1. To measure thickness of an overlay of the conducted disk by means of a caliper. The distance to heads of rivets has to be at least 0,3 mm, otherwise to replace the conducted disk. The same in the presence in an overlay of cracks.
  1. To check the conducted disk for a beating. Maximum side beating of a disk: 0,7 mm. Check requires the special tool, however it is necessary only if the old conducted disk with which there were difficulties at inclusion and switching off is established.
  2. If in work of coupling there were malfunctions, to check a side beating of a flywheel by means of the arrow indicator. Maximum side beating: 0,2 mm.
  3. To check a flywheel for existence of traces of a deposit and grooves, if necessary to grind a small emery paper.
  1. To check wear tracks of the release bearing on a diaphragm spring. To level small roughnesses an emery paper, at larger damages to replace press a disk.
  1. To check spring connections between a press disk and a cover for existence of cracks and durability of landing of rivets. Coupling with the damaged or weakened rivets should be replaced.
  2. To check a surface of a prileganiye of a press disk for existence of cracks, traces of a progar and wear. The press disks having a deflection inside to 0,3 mm still can be established. Check is carried out by means of a ruler and the flat probe. If necessary to level traces of a progar and a groove a small emery paper.
  1. To turn the directing bearing in a flywheel a finger, pressing at the same time the bearing. To replace the bearing only if he jams or has a free wheeling. The special stripper is necessary for taking out. The new bearing is hammered with the hammer and a core until it is level with a flywheel.
  1. To check ease of the course of the release bearing.



  1. To insert the conducted disk and a basket with a press disk into a flywheel. At the same time the flat party of a nave of the conducted disk is turned to a flywheel. To approximately align the conducted disk to the center in the press bearing. However it is better to ottsentrovat a disk a suitable core, for example, HAZET or an old main shaft of the transmission. If the conducted disk is not in the center, it is impossible to insert a transmission shaft.
  1. If the disk is established former press, to install a basket according to the mark put at removal. At the same time the directing pins on a flywheel will enter basket openings with a press disk.
  2. To screw in bolts of fastening of a basket.
  3. To tighten bolts of fastening of a basket of a disk in the given sequence step by step on 1 - 1,5 turn until press the disk is screwed. To remove the aligning core.

To watch that the basket when tightening bolts evenly and without distortion entered a flywheel. Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a basket: 25 Nanometers.

  1. To take out lock adaptation from coupling.
