Removal of air from the coupling drive

Hydraulic drive

Air has to be removed from the coupling drive if the pedal of coupling does not come back to a starting position or comes back very slowly if transfers join hardly, and also after opening of hydraulic system.

As the hydraulic system of the drive of coupling works with brake fluid, it is also necessary to study the corresponding instructions in the Section Pumping of the Brake System.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To lift a forward part of the car.
  2. To check the level of brake fluid in a compensation tank, if necessary to add to the maximum mark.
  3. To remove a boot from the pumping gate on the working cylinder.
  4. It is careful to open the pumping gate. For rotation of the gate it is the best of all to use a six-sided cap key.
  5. To put on a transparent hose the gate of pumping of the working cylinder.
  1. To lower the free end of a hose in half the bottle filled with brake fluid, the end of a hose has to be shipped in brake fluid.
  1. Several times slowly to squeeze out a pedal of coupling (assistant).
  2. Holding a pedal of pressed, to weaken the pumping gate, brake fluid will not begin to follow yet. Then again to close the gate.
  3. To release a pedal, to press again and to hold in this situation. To open the gate of pumping and to close again. To repeat this process until in the following brake fluid vials of air do not disappear. At the same time it is constant to add fresh brake fluid in a compensation tank.
  4. To remove a hose, to put on a boot the pumping gate.
  5. To add brake fluid in a compensation tank to a mark a maximum.
  6. To make a trial trip and to check coupling work. Transfers have to join easily, without gnash, otherwise repeat pumping, or find malfunction according to the table.
