Check of a thermoswitch

- The thermoswitch is screwed in in the inlet union of cooling liquid. It turns on the electric fan of a radiator when cooling liquid reaches a certain temperature. The switch should be checked if at a hot radiator the fan does not turn on. Check conditions: To check electric wires, the relay and motor of the fan according to the scheme. The thermostat and the reducing valve in a cover of a radiator are serviceable. If these elements are faulty, the thermoswitch will not be able to turn on the fan as it does not heat up cooling liquid.

- To disconnect the plug from a thermoswitch.
- To unscrew a thermoswitch.

Cooling liquid will follow from an opening on the inlet union. To substitute capacity for collecting liquid. |
- To suspend a thermoswitch in the container with water. To slowly heat water.
- By means of an ohmmeter to control course of current via the switch. At a temperature of +91 °C current has to proceed.
- To leave water to cool down and control that at the water temperature of +84 °C current stopped proceeding.

- If values do not correspond demanded, the switch should be replaced.
|
- To screw the switch with new laying with effort of 10 Nanometers.
- To fill in cooling liquid.
- To warm up the engine and to leave to idle, the fan will not turn on yet. To double-check the level of cooling liquid.
