Removal and installation of the water pump

The water pump is not subject to repair. In case of malfunction the pump should be replaced. At malfunction of an epiploon cooling liquid flows down on the block of cylinders. The water pump is set in motion by a maple belt.

Removal for E1, EZ, E5 engines

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To disconnect a weight cable from the battery.

At the same time data from memory of malfunctions of the engine or a protective code of the radio receiver are erased. Before shutdown of the battery it is necessary to read instructions in the Section Removal also installation of the battery.


  1. To remove the lower facing of the engine-1-.
  1. To merge and collect cooling liquid.
  2. To weaken bolts of fastening of a belt pulley of the water pump.
  3. To take off maple a belt-2-, see the Head Petrol engines, the Section Removal and an installation/tension of a maple belt.
  4. To unscrew a belt pulley of the water pump-5-.
  5. To disconnect a hose of cooling liquid-3-, previously having weakened a collar.
  6. To unscrew bolts of fastening of the water pump-5-and to remove the water pump from a pipe of perepuskny system-4-.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To put on new laying a perepuskny pipe.
  2. To insert the water pump so that the perepuskny pipe completely sat in the pump. To tighten fastening bolts with effort of 30 Nanometers.
  3. To check that the water pump freely rotated and did not hook anywhere.
  4. To put on a hose of cooling liquid and to fix by a collar.
  5. To establish a belt pulley and to tighten by effort of a hand.
  6. To establish maple a belt, see the Head Petrol engines, the Section Removal and an installation/tension of a maple belt.
  7. To tighten bolts of fastening of a belt pulley.
  8. To fill in cooling liquid.
  9. To connect a weight cable to the battery.
  10. If are available, to determine time on hours and to set a protective code of the radio receiver.
  11. After a trial trip to check tightness of the cooling system.

Removal for VZ, V5, V6, BP engines

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To disconnect a weight cable from the battery.

At the same time data from memory of malfunctions of the engine or a protective code of the radio receiver are erased. Before shutdown of the battery it is necessary to read instructions in the Section Removal also installation of the battery.

  1. To merge and collect cooling liquid.
  2. To remove a casing of a belt and a gear belt, see the Head Petrol engines, the Section Removal and installation of a gear belt of VZ, V5, B6 (SOHC), BP engines (SOHC).
  3. Engine of BP (DOHC): To take out the masloizmeritelny probe and to unscrew the directing probe tube.
  1. To unscrew the water union-1-and to remove from a perepuskny pipe-3-.
  1. Engine of BP (DOHC): To unscrew the directing and tension rollers with a spring.
  2. To unscrew bolts of fastening of the water pump-5-and to remove the pump.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To clear sealing surfaces on the block of cylinders, the water pump and water unions at first a shaber, then to wipe with a rag to remove the consolidation remains.
  2. It is careful to insert the new pump-5-with new laying-6-. To tighten bolts with effort of 25 Nanometers.
  3. Engine of BP (DOHC): To establish the directing and tension rollers with a spring and to tighten 45 Nanometers with effort.
  4. To put on new laying-4-on perepuskny the pipeline-3-.
  5. To establish a water branch pipe of-1 c by new laying-4-and to tighten 25 Nanometers with effort.
  6. To establish and pull a gear belt, see the Head Petrol engines, the Section Removal and installation of a gear belt of VZ, V5, B6 (SOHC), BP engines (SOHC).
  7. To fill in cooling liquid.
  8. To connect a weight cable to the battery.
  9. If are available, to determine time on hours and to set a protective code of the radio receiver.
  10. To warm up the engine. Then to install the car on a dry surface and to check tightness of the cooling system.

Removal for the diesel engine

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To disconnect a weight cable from the battery.

At the same time data from memory of malfunctions of the engine or a protective code of the radio receiver are erased. Before shutdown of the battery it is necessary to read instructions in the Section Removal also installation of the battery.


  1. To merge and collect cooling liquid.
  1. To remove a casing of a belt and a gear belt, see the Head Petrol engines, the Section Removal and installation of a gear belt of VZ, V5, B6 (SOHC), BP engines (SOHC).
  2. To take out the masloizmeritelny probe and to unscrew the directing probe pipe-2.
  3. To unscrew bolts of fastening of the water pump-3-and to remove the pump.

Installation

  3. To screw the directing pipe - the 2-masloizmeritelny probe with effort of 25 Nanometers and to insert the probe.
  4. To insert new laying-1-.
  5. To establish and pull a gear belt, see the Head Petrol engines, the Section Removal and installation of a gear belt of VZ, V5, B6 (SOHC), BP engines (SOHC).
  6. To fill in cooling liquid.
  7. To connect a weight cable to the battery.
  8. If are available, to determine time on hours and to set a protective code of the radio receiver.
  9. To warm up the engine. Then to install the car on the dry place and to check tightness of the cooling system.
