Management of RKPP and transfer case

The special protection device provides that the driver cannot incidentally switch from the 5th transfer to a backing. Before the lever of gear shifting can be turned on on a backing, it has to be established in neutral situation.

The movement with the drive on four wheels (all-wheel drive cars)

These cars are equipped with the constant drive on four wheels with blocking of the transfer case.

Blocking of the transfer case is switched off

The car can in the majority of road conditions move with the switched-off blocking of the transfer case.

Blocking of the transfer case is included

At the included blocking of the transfer case forward and back wheels are connected with each other.

Include blocking of the transfer case only to release the car which stuck in dirt, etc. Consider the following instructions to improve dynamic characteristics and force of draft of tires and to cut fuel consumption and wear of rubber.

Inclusion and switching off of blocking of the transfer case

Blocking of the transfer case copes with the help of the electric preselektorny switch at the expense of what blocking of the transfer case joins mechanically or switched off with a small delay to reduce pushes when switching and to increase reliability.

"Inclusion" When a key will be latched, the indicator begins to blink until process of switching ends. After that the indicator begins to burn constantly. As the following confirmation of the end of process of switching the acoustic signal sounds until the indicator stops blinking and will begin to burn constantly.
"Switching off" Press a key that it was unsnapped, and blocking was switched off. After the end of process of switching the indicator will go out.

Before parking the car, blocking of the transfer case has to be switched off, switching of a key in situation "Switching off" as blocking of the transfer case cannot be switched off on the standing car.

Never include blocking of the transfer case under following conditions as differently the kinetic chain (forward and back differential, the transfer case) can be damaged.

If the spare wheel is established

As the spare wheel is less than usual wheel, the difference arising because of it in speed cannot be compensated at the included blocking of the transfer case.

If antisliding chains are established

(You can, however include blocking of the transfer case for a short time for simplification of a start of motion under trying conditions).

Put on antisliding chains only forward wheels.

If the car is towed with the raised wheels (forward or back).

If at the included blocking of the transfer case of a brake are exposed to strong influence.

At strong braking forward and back wheels can be blocked so the car can bring.

For this reason do not make too strong impact that wheels were not blocked on brakes.

Normal movement along dry roads

Do not include blocking if you move with a high speed on the autobahn or the highway of local value.

If you make abrupt turn, for example, at the parking or in a city cycle

In these conditions of a wheel can rotate with different speeds. At the included blocking of the transfer case of the tire can be erased because of it about the surface of the road.

  • Consider that at bystry movement along the crude road forward wheels can lose coupling with the road. The hydroplaning is noticeable on cars with the forward drive by sudden increase in speed of the engine. Therefore choose the high-speed mode according to road conditions.
  • Never include blocking of the transfer case when the car is at the test roller stand (when checking brakes of the car).
  • Otherwise the transfer case will try to level a difference in speed between wheels which are put in action by test rollers, and wheels which stand on the earth.
  • For check of the car at the roller test stand the driveshaft has to be weakened and blocking of the transfer case is included.
