Principle of operation of the diesel engine

At the diesel engine the arriving clean air is exposed to high extent of compression. Thanks to it temperature in cylinders rises higher than temperature of ignition of diesel fuel. When the piston is in situation before VMT, diesel fuel is injected into the air compressed and warmed up to the temperature of +600 °C. Diesel fuel ignites in itself, spark plugs are not required here. On the cold engine the necessary temperature of ignition is not reached and therefore preheat is necessary for the engine. For this purpose in each vortex camera the glow plug is placed.

Fuel podsasyvatsya from a tank by the toplivoraspredelitelny pump of high pressure. In the fuel pump of high pressure (FPHP) pressure, necessary for injection (about 130 Bars) is created and fuel is distributed between cylinders as ignition. At the same time the regulator in TNVD operates the number of injection depending on position of the accelerator pedal. Through nozzles fuel is injected into vortex cameras of each cylinder. Thanks to a camera form air gets a certain whirl which provides optimum mixture of injectable fuel with air in a compression step. Before hit in TNVD fuel passes through the fuel filter. There pollution and water are late. Extremely important according to the instruction to merge a sediment from the filter and to replace it.

Fuel pump of high pressure unattended. All mobile parts of the pump are greased with diesel fuel. TNVD is set in motion from the crankshaft through a gear belt through which the camshaft is also set in motion. As the diesel engine works with spontaneous ignition and cannot be switched-off by switching off of food of system of ignition, it has the electromagnetic valve. At switching off of the lock of ignition power supply of the electromagnetic valve is interrupted, and the valve blocks the channel of supply of fuel.

Thanks to it interruption in supply of fuel before locking of the lock of a steering column is provided. At start of the engine on the electromagnetic valve tension via the ignition lock moves, and it opens the channel of supply of fuel.
