Brake fluid

At the treatment of brake fluid it is necessary to consider the following:

  • Brake fluid is poisonous. It is impossible to suck away brake fluid through a hose a mouth at all. To pour brake fluid in the vessels intended only for it.
  • Brake fluid corrodes and therefore should not get on varnish surfaces, if necessary at once erase and wash away a large amount of water.
  • Brake fluid is hygroscopic, it means, it absorbs moisture from air. Therefore brake fluid has to be stored in the closed vessel.
  • Brake fluid which was already used in system the second time should not be filled in. Also when pumping to add only fresh brake fluid.
  • Specification of brake fluid: FMVSS 116 DOT 3 or SAE J1703.
  • Brake fluid should not adjoin to lubricant and mineral oil. Even insignificant traces of mineral oil do brake fluid unsuitable or conduct to an exit of the brake system out of operation.
  • Brake fluid should be replaced each 2 years, whenever possible after the end of a winter season.
  • Old brake fluid should be handed over in special points, not to merge in the sewerage. Not to mix brake fluid with engine oil.
