Check of the brake amplifier

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The brake amplifier it is necessary to check if for braking it is necessary to make unusually big effort for a brake pedal.
  2. To squeeze out a pedal of a brake of at least 5 times at the idle engine, then to start the engine with the pressed pedal. The pedal has to go noticeably down. In this case the brake amplifier works normally. If it does not occur, to check tightness.
  3. Otherwise to remove a vacuum hose on the brake amplifier, to start the engine. To put a finger to the end of a hose and to check availability of vacuum at the working engine.
  4. If vacuum is absent: To check a vacuum hose for leakage and damages, if necessary to replace. To tighten all hose collars.
  5. Diesel engine: To remove a hose from the vacuum pump and to check a finger whether there is a vacuum on the union.
  6. If vacuum is put: To measure value of low pressure, if necessary to replace the brake amplifier (it is carried out in a workshop).

At the same time always to replace the backpressure valve in the vacuum pipeline as the membrane in the brake amplifier can be damaged by the getting fuel vapors (at the faulty backpressure valve).
