Removal and installation of a brake disk

For ensuring uniform braking on both sides, both brake disks have to have an identical surface. Therefore it is obligatory to replace both brake disks on one axis.

Cars to 9/89 g of the issue and the station wagon model: For removal of forward brake disks it is necessary to address in a workshop as this work demands dismantling of a nave and the press, see the Head Podvesk and system of steering is respectively necessary.

When replacing brake disks brake shoes have to be replaced also.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To remove a support of a brake and to suspend on a wire to a body with the connected brake hose.
  1. Cars to 9/89 g of the issue and the station wagon model: For removal of a back brake disk to straighten a lock plate by means of the hammer and a chisel and to weaken a nave nut.

On the left side the nut of a nave has the left carving, it for easing needs to be rotated to the right (clockwise).

  1. To remove a brake disk.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To clear new brake disks of a protective varnish by means of a nitrothinner.
  2. Cars to 9/89 g of the issue and the station wagon model: To rearrange the hug bearing in a new brake disk. To establish a back disk with the bearing and to adjust a hug bearing side play, see the Head Podvesk and system of steering.
  3. Cars from 10/89 g of the issue, except the station wagon model: To insert a brake disk and to slightly screw 2 nuts of a wheel, for fixing of a brake disk.
