Removal and installation of valves

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

To remove a head of cylinders, see the Section Removal and installation of a head cylinders/replacement of laying of a head of cylinders.
To remove a cam-shaft, see the Sections Removal and installation cam-shaft/adjustment of phases of gas distribution, Removal and installation of the camshaft, the Cam-shaft/drive of the distributive mechanism.

If details of the distributive mechanism are established again, they have to be established on former places. In order to avoid confusion it is recommended to prepare a suitable raskladochny board.

Engines with 2 cam-shafts with the top arrangement: To take out dish-shaped pushers and to spread out on a board.

To remove springs of valves. For removal of crackers of valves standard nippers for springs of valves are used.

To squeeze springs of valves and to take out crackers. To remove nippers. To take out the valve. To remove the top cups of valves, springs and cups below.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

If old valves and a head of cylinders are installed, before assembly it is necessary to check guides of valves. If new valves are installed in an old head of cylinders, it is necessary to process facets of valves in a head of cylinders and valves.
To clear valves a shaber and a wire brush of the deposit remains.
VZ, V5, V6 (SOHC), BP engine (SOHC): To check yokes and a shaft of yokes for existence of grooves and wear.
To slightly grease a core of the valve and to insert each valve on the old place. New valves should be ground in previously by means of grinding paste, see the Section Check/adjustment of a Gap of Valves.
To carefully clear all details and to oil mobile details engine.
It is obligatory to replace maslootrazhatelny caps.
To insert valves into a head of cylinders. To watch that inlet and final valves were installed in the correct order.
To insert the lower cups of springs of valves.
To establish springs and the top cups of springs of valves.
To squeeze springs of valves nippers and to insert crackers of valves so that they entered grooves of valves. To remove nippers and to install other valves.
To knock slightly with the polymeric hammer on a valve core to provide the correct provision of crackers.
Engines with 2 cam-shafts with the top arrangement: To oil all dish-shaped pushers engine and to insert them into the corresponding openings.
