Removal and installation cam-shaft/adjustment of phases of gas distribution

E1, EZ, E5 engines

In principle, the head of cylinders of engines E has the same design, as at other petrol engines. In the following text it will be specified only differences.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

To disconnect a weight cable from the battery.

At the same time data from memory of malfunctions of the engine or a protective code of the radio receiver are erased. Before shutdown of the battery it is necessary to read instructions in the Section Removal also installation of the battery.

To block the crankshaft and to unscrew a bolt of fastening of a cogwheel of a cam-shaft.
For blocking of the crankshaft to include the 5th or 4th transfer and to ask the assistant to squeeze out a brake pedal.
To unscrew a natyazhitel of a driving chain.
To weaken bolts of a head of cylinders in the sequence with 1 on 10 for the first pass on 1/2 turns, for the second pass on one whole turn and to turn out completely on the third pass.

Weakening of bolts of a head of cylinders in an inadequate order can lead to deformation or cracks in a head of cylinders.

To remove shaft of yokes with halves of bearings of a cam-shaft.
To connect an asterisk of a cam-shaft and a driving chain by a wire, for fixing of provision of an asterisk and a chain from each other.

To remove an asterisk of a cam-shaft and to remove a cam-shaft.

To ask the assistant to keep constantly a cam-shaft asterisk under a tension that the driving chain did not come off a crankshaft asterisk.

If the chain came off a crankshaft asterisk, the distributive mechanism needs to be adjusted again.

To check whether all hoses and wires going from a head of cylinders to the engine and a body are disconnected.
To remove a head of cylinders by means of the assistant.

Not to put a head of cylinders after removal on a sealing surface, at the same time completely open valves can be damaged. To lay a head of cylinders on two wooden whetstones.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

To insert a cam-shaft.
To establish a cam-shaft asterisk with a driving chain.
To establish shaft of yokes with halves of bearings of a cam-shaft.
To wrap 10 bolts to a prileganiye to a head of cylinders by effort of a hand. Then bolts should be tightened in three passes. On each pass bolts drag on in the sequence, from the 1st on the 10th.

1st pass: 50 Nanometers
2nd pass: 70 Nanometers
3rd pass: 90 Nanometers

The inhaling of bolts of a head of cylinders should be made very attentively. Before an inhaling it is necessary to check the accuracy of a dynamometer key. Besides, it is necessary to follow the sequence of an inhaling precisely.

To block the crankshaft, to establish a bolt of fastening of a cogwheel of a cam-shaft and to tighten it with effort of 75 Nanometers.
For blocking of the crankshaft to include the 4th or 5th transfer and to ask the assistant to squeeze out a brake pedal.

To press a stopper in the direction of an arrow and to completely move the coupling of a natyazhitel of a chain into the case of a natyazhitel. To fix the coupling by a bracket.

To establish and screw a natyazhitel of a chain with new laying.
After installation of a natyazhitel the bracket is weakened due to rotation of the crankshaft. The coupling is displaced automatically and establishes a chain side play.
To check adjustment of a driving chain. For this purpose to turn the crankshaft that the tag on a belt pulley coincided with a tag of "T". At the same time yokes of the 1st cylinder have to have a small side play, and yokes of the 4th cylinder have to be in the provision of overlapping of valves, i.e. both valves have to be pressed by yokes down. If it not so, a driving chain it is necessary to adjust again.

To establish a cover of a head of cylinders with new laying of a cover and segment consolidation. To screw a cover with effort of 10 Nanometers.

To connect a cable of mass of the battery.
If are available, to determine time on hours and to set a protective code of the radio receiver.
To check a gap of valves, see the Section Check/adjustment of a Gap of Valves.

Adjustment of a driving chain

PERFORMANCE ORDER

To uncover a head of cylinders.

To block the crankshaft and to unscrew a bolt of fastening of an asterisk of a cam-shaft (the engine is represented in the removed situation).

For blocking of the crankshaft to include the 5th or 4th transfer and to ask the assistant to squeeze out a brake pedal.
To remove a natyazhitel of a chain.
To take off maple a belt, see the Section Removal and an installation/tension of a maple belt.
To lift the car.
To block the crankshaft and to unscrew a bolt of fastening of a belt pulley of the crankshaft.
To unscrew all bolts of the pallet of a case which are screwed in in a cover of a driving chain.
To unscrew a chain cover.

To turn the crankshaft so that the groove of a spline was turned up. At the same time polished (brilliant) links of a chain have to coincide with tags on asterisks of distributive and cranked shaft. If tags do not coincide, to remove an asterisk from a cam-shaft and to adjust a chain.

If the chain is adjusted truly, to establish a cam-shaft asterisk, the case of a driving chain, a cover of a head of cylinders, a belt pulley of the crankshaft and bolts of fastening of the pallet of a case.
