Check of a compression

All engines

Check of a compression allows to draw a conclusion on a condition of the engine. Namely, when checking it is possible to define whether as it should be valves and pistons (piston rings), or they are worn-out. Besides, results of check indicate that the engine needs repair. For check it is necessary компрессометр which for petrol engines can be got cheap in company network.

Pressure difference between separate cylinders can make 2,0 Bars as much as possible. If in one or several cylinders pressure differs more than on 2,0 Bars, it is a sign of faulty valves, worn-out piston rings or a mirror of cylinders. If the limit of wear is reached, the engine has to be repaired or replaced.

  1. For check of a compression temperature of the engine has to make at least +30 °C. Then the oil filter has hand temperature. Temperature of the engine should not be too big, otherwise at a vyvinchivaniye of spark plugs the carving in a head of cylinders can be damaged.
  2. To switch off ignition.
  1. Petrol engine: To disconnect the plug from the plug 15 on the ignition distributor.
  1. Diesel engine: To disconnect the plug from the fuel interruption in supply valve.

If not to switch-off the plug, at a provorachivaniye of the crankshaft fuel will follow.

  1. Petrol engine: To disconnect all tips of spark plugs. For this purpose there are special nippers, for example, of HAZET 1849.
  2. To blow niches of candles in a head of cylinders compressed air and to unscrew spark plugs a candle key.
  3. Diesel engine: To remove nozzles and to block a returnable fuel-supply line on FPHP (fuel pump of high pressure), see the Head the Diesel engine.
  4. Several times to turn the crankshaft a starter to remove the soot remains.

To install the transmission in neutral situation, to tighten the emergency brake.

  1. To insert or screw in компрессометр in a candle opening according to the instruction.
  2. To ask the assistant to squeeze out completely the accelerator pedal and to hold during all check.
  3. To allow the crankshaft to be turned on 8 turns until the device ceases to show increase of pressure.
  4. To check all cylinders and to compare to the required value.
