Removal and installation of the camshaft

VZ, V5, V6 (SOHC), BP engines (SOHC), PN

At the end of the head it will be specified differences of the 1,8 l diesel engine.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

To disconnect a weight cable from the battery.

At the same time data from memory of malfunctions of the engine or a protective code of the radio receiver are erased. Before shutdown of the battery it is necessary to read instructions in the Section Removal also installation of the battery.

To unscrew the holder of the battery.
To remove the air filter, see the Head the Power supply system, the carburetor, system of injection of fuel, the Section Removal and installation of the air filter.
To uncover a head of cylinders with laying.
To install the crankshaft in the provision of VMT of the piston of the 1st cylinder, see the Section Removal and installation of a gear belt of VZ, V5, B6 (SOHC), BP engines (SOHC).

After that position of the crankshaft cannot be changed.

To take off a gear belt, see the Section Removal and installation of a gear belt of VZ, V5, B6 (SOHC), BP engines (SOHC).
To remove the ignition distributor, see the Head Sistem of ignition, the Section Removal and installation of the distributor of ignition.
If is available to remove the mechanical fuel pump on a head of cylinders, see the Head the Power supply system, the carburetor, system of injection of fuel, the Section Removal and installation/check of the fuel pump.

To weaken bolts of fastening of shaft of yokes in that order and to unscrew them.

To mark the adjusting provision of shaft of yokes with chalk or a felt-tip pen, to take out shaft complete with yokes and springs and to put aside that they did not break up.

Some engines are equipped with hydraulic pushers. On these engines at removal any hydraulic pusher should not drop out of yokes.
