Check of the directing valves

At repair of a head of cylinders with untight valves it is only not enough to process valves and working facets of saddles. It is extremely important to check guides of valves for wear existence. This check on engines with a big run is especially important. Worn-out guides do not provide the central position of valves and lead to a high consumption of oil. If wear is too big, guides of valves should be replaced.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

To remove the valve.
To clear a valve guide a cylindrical brush or a cleaner.

To measure the internal diameter of a guide of the valve in 6 places.

To measure by a micrometer diameter of a core of the valve in 6 places.

For definition of average value to put results of six measurements and to divide on 6.

To subtract the average diameter of a core of the valve from the average diameter of a guide of the valve. The maximum radial side play is defined by it. Maximum radial side play: 0,20 mm (diesel of 0,10 mm).
If values are exceeded, it is necessary to replace guides of valves (it is carried out in a workshop) or valves.
