Check/replacement of the traction relay of a starter

Scheme of inclusion

At malfunction of the traction relay the gear wheel in a starter does not enter a gear wreath of a flywheel. Because of it the starter cannot turn the crankshaft. This defect meets more often than damage of the motor of a starter.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To remove a starter.
  1. To disconnect an excitement winding cable from the plug C.
  1. To connect the traction relay auxiliary cables to the battery. The gear wheel of a starter has to move forward outside.

Cables can be connected at most for 10 seconds, otherwise the winding of the traction relay will fuse.

  1. To disconnect a weight cable from the plug C. The gear wheel of a starter has to remain wrung out, otherwise replace the relay.
  2. To disconnect a weight cable on the starter case, the gear wheel has to be involved, differently replace.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To unscrew 2 bolts of fastening and the plug of a cable of the relay from the case of the drive and to disconnect the traction relay. To remove washers.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To install the traction relay with washers, to attach to the lever of a starter and to screw with small effort (5 Nanometers).
  2. To check the traction relay as it is described above.
  3. To establish a starter.
